Charlie Miller, M.A., LPCC
Clinical Supervisor

Charlie is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) who provides clinical supervision, mentorship, and professional development support to post-degree, pre-licensed clinicians and clinical trainees at IIH. His areas of expertise include trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, men's issues, parenting, family dynamics, ADHD, and life transitions. Charlie is trained in several therapy modalities including psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP), EMDR, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).Charlie's supervision approach reflects IIH's whole-person philosophy, helping clinicians strengthen their clinical skills, deepen case conceptualization, and develop authentic therapeutic relationships while integrating evidence-based and trauma-informed care. Charlie is passionate about supporting the next generation of therapists and helping trainees build confidence, competence, and a sustainable professional identity.

WHAT IS CIBHS?CIBHS is one of Minnesota’s most intensive children’s mental health services.It was created for children and adolescents (up to age 21) whose mental health, behavioral, trauma-related, or relational needs have become too complex for traditional outpatient therapy alone — but for whom the goal remains something incredibly important:KEEP THE CHILD CONNECTED.To family.

To the people who matter.Rather than expecting a child in crisis to fit into a traditional once-a-week therapy model, CIBHS brings intensive treatment into the places where the child’s life is actually happening. Because sometimes the most meaningful clinical work cannot happen within four walls.Think of CIBHS as the space between traditional outpatient therapy and a much higher level of care. You may recognize this service by another name. CIBHS evolved from Minnesota’s former Intensive Treatment in Foster Care (ITFC) program. But this was more than a name change. Minnesota expanded the program so intensive behavioral health treatment could reach qualifying children beyond traditional foster-care settings, including children living with parents or other legal guardians who are at risk of out-of-home placement.The name changed.The reach expanded.And more Minnesota families can now access intensive treatment while their child remains connected to home and community.WHY IIH?At the Institute for Integrative Health, we believe complex children need more than symptom management.
